Before the announcement of his comedy tour, Regan had only participated in “I Am Comic,” a film that focuses on the art and occupational hazards of stand-up comedy. Now that he has a ton of tour dates ahead of him, Brian Regan fans can finally get a chance to see him live.

His tour is scheduled to kick off on Aug. 19 in San Antonio, Texas, end on Dec. 11 in Phoenix, Ariz. Some highlights of the tour include Aug. 20 in Beaumont, Texas; Aug. 22 in Mobile, Ala.; Aug. 28 in San Jose, Calif.; Sept. 24 in Albany, N.Y.; Sept. 26 in Lancaster, Penn.; and Oct. 1 in Jacksonville, Fla.

In an interview with Straight, he jokes, “I would love to do a special on TV where I come out on-stage and I’m wearing a sweatshirt that has the f word on it and a hat that has the f word on it and the backdrop is just a big curtain that has the f word on it, but do my act completely clean and just say, ‘Now what are they going to write about?’”

Regan does not feel that his comedic style should be defined and put into a box.  Brian does everything in his power to stay away from a hook or one angle.  “As soon as I read more than three articles that define me a certain way, I start writing away from that.  I don’t want to be a one-trick pony.”

He’s holding a “Brian Regan 2010 Tour T-Shirt Design Contest,” where fans are asked to sketch a design for his 2010 tour and send it in. Here’s the guidelines, courtesy of his official Web site:

• All submission must be on regular sized paper (9″ x 11″) and returned with a signed copy of the official rules.
• Executive judges will review all the submissions, and select five finalists. The five finalists will be posted on BrianRegan.com and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite design.
• The winner will receive Two Thousand Ten Dollars ($2010), two dozen 2010 Tour Shirts, four (4) tickets to a Brian Regan public performance with a meet and greet and photo opportunity with Brian.

The funnyman will travel down the Midwest into the South through the end of October, and will spend November in the East Coast and December specifically in New York. He’s also scheduled a few stops for March of 2010 – two in Salt Lake City, Utah, and two in Frederick, Md.
